It happened again, another client, no weight loss.
A week ago my client was ready to go to a weight loss retreat because the “diet” was not working. After looking over her journal I was able to pinpoint what I call “creep” in her daily food choices.
It may have seemed like nothing but a couple bites here, a few drinks there and BOOM no weight loss. No weight gain either but this is definitely not part of the goal.
No matter what the plan, it is very easy to fall victim to “creep”, it could have been “calorie creep” if she were following a low-calorie diet but this low carber was getting very disappointed because she swore she was following the plan without getting the results she deserved.
We reviewed her food journal with a fine tooth comb. There were small deviations (nothing in large quantities) from the plan we agreed to: a couple of bites of dessert 3 days that week, 2 alcoholic beverages, and too many “healthy” carbs that brought her above her carb threshold. However these small indulgences added up because they occurred too often.
We revisited the original choices she made and started fresh.
You may think she stuck to the plan this time and lost weight, wouldn’t you? But something else happened.
She did follow the plan and you’ll never guess what happened with her weight. I’ll share her results next week!
I think you’ll be surprised…
